School-to-Prison Pipeline
The School-to-Prison Pipeline is a way in which students are pushed out of schools and into the juvenile justice system through harsh disciplinary policies, high stakes testing, and other means. Students of color, low-income students, students with disabilities, and LGBTQ students bear the brunt of the "Pipeline."
While the problems that many marginalized students are facing do not always start in the school, we believe people in schools have the power to turn these outcomes around for students. Schools can:

- Look honestly at which students are affected by suspensions, expulsions, and arrests. Recognize that implicit bias can affect how we treat students without us realizing it.
- Implement restorative practices, trauma-sensitive approaches to behaviors, culturally relevant curriculum, and other strategies to create healing, equity, and empowering opportunities for all students and staff.
